Lynn & Steve’s Big Island Favorites

#1 Make sure to pickup a copy of “Hawaii The Big Island Revealed – The Ultimate Guidebook”  We call this “THE GOOD BOOK” – it is always accurate and provides a wide variety of Island experience options – be sure to look for the “Real Gems”.        Available at Barnes & Noble Online. Hawaii The Big Island Book
#2 Our favorite in-town coffee is the
and is found in the Kona Inn Shopping Village.  A perfect morning walk from Condo B25.  Be sure to get a Preferred Customer Card and get it punched.  Walk out to the sea wall and watch the sea turtles while you sip on your morning coffee.

Kona Coffee Cafe

 Favorite eateries include:

BBQ local fish at pool area barbeque – good fish from KTA markets or from fish store in the Honokohau Harbor - yum!

In Kona:

  Sushi on a Roll

  Sibu’s

  Chart House

  Kona Brewery
J  (A tip from Steve – don’t go here without your wife – yikes)

Outside Kona and worth the trip:

Heavenly Aloha Café – Great breakfast!

Café Pesto – Great lunch and dinner – make sure to go next door to Harbor Arts to see awesome Local Hawaiian and Polynesian artwork.

Favorite Beaches

There are so many but here are a few:

Hapuna (one of the top 10 beaches in the world per Island Magazine) also fun for boogie boarding

Spencer Beach – a great family beach

Honokohau Beach – last time we were there the sea turtles had migrated from Fiji (in July)

Favorite Snorkeling spots:

  Kahalu’u beach

City of Refuge National Historical Park – we even swam with over 50 Dolphins!!!!!!

Please send us any of your favorites (hikes, beaches, restaurants, coffee shops, etc) and we will add them to this page to help others get the most out of their Kona vacation
